Play Therapist sitting on playground in Thornton, Colorado

Hi, I’m Lori! I’m so glad you’re here. I started my journey working with children as a young adult myself, working at summer camps, grief groups, and domestic violence shelters. I knew early on that supporting young people was a passion of mine! I got my bachelor’s degree at CU Boulder in Psychology and Communications, and spent time working at schools before I decided to go back to graduate school to get my master’s in counseling. I specialized in the school track, and became a school counselor for 6 years before realizing I wanted to be able to support kids and young people in a deeper way than I could in the school system. I became an Licensed Professional Counselor, and got a post graduate certificate in counseling children and adolescents at Regis University, which allowed me to become a Registered Play Therapist. I left the school to pursue private practice as a play therapist, and have loved every minute of it. I love getting to support kids and their families to reconnect and thrive together.

I specialize in supporting children ages 3–10 and their families through behavioral and emotional regulation challenges in Thornton, Colorado. As a Registered Play Therapist with introductory training in Synergetic Play Therapy, I bring a child-centered and nervous system informed approach to help kids feel accepted, confident, and connected.

I am passionate about helping children, teens, and adults grow in self-worth, while guiding families to reconnect with their kids in meaningful ways and feel confident that they can help their children. My work focuses on reducing behavioral challenges while restoring peace, joy, and delight within family relationships.
