Teen Therapy
in a Space That Feels Safe and Real
Being a teen can feel like a lot. Anxiety, pressure, emotions that hit out of nowhere, expectations from school, family, and friends, it can pile up fast.
Therapy is a place where you don’t have to pretend you’re fine or explain yourself perfectly. It’s a space where you can talk (or not talk), think things through, and figure out what’s actually going on for you.
At Red Tailed Counseling, teen therapy offers a supportive, non-judgmental space where teens can show up as they are, feel genuinely heard, and build tools to navigate emotions, relationships, and life transitions.
You Might Be Here Because…
You might be dealing with:
Anxiety or constant stress
Feeling overwhelmed, numb, or shut down
Big emotions that are hard to control
Feeling misunderstood by adults or friends
Family conflict or pressure
Stuff from the past that still shows up
Feeling like you don’t really know who you are right now
You don’t need a “big reason” to come to therapy. If things feel hard, that’s enough.
What Therapy With Me Is Like
I don’t believe therapy should feel awkward, fake, or like you’re being talked down to.
In sessions:
You get to be yourself — no pressure to perform or impress
I listen without judgment
We go at your pace
I’m honest and direct, but always supportive
We work on understanding your emotions and reactions, not just “fixing” them
You’re not broken. Your feelings make sense — even if they feel confusing or intense.
About Privacy (Important Stuff)
What you say in therapy is private.
I don’t share details with parents unless:
-Someone’s safety is at risk, or
-We agree together on what should be shared
Parents may have occasional check-ins, but therapy is your space.
What You Can Get From Therapy
Over time, therapy can help you:
Understand your emotions instead of feeling controlled by them
Learn ways to calm your body and mind
Feel more confident speaking up or setting boundaries
Improve relationships with family and friends
Feel more like yourself again
If you’re curious or unsure, that’s okay. You don’t have to have everything figured out. You (or your parent) can schedule a free consultation to see if this feels like a good fit.
